More Craft Fair Items!
I will be in my first craft fair this season on November 10th! I have been working, when I have time, on some cute projects that I will be selling and I have had so much fun. I truly wish there was more time in the day when it comes to crafting. Here are a few items that I have made and I plan to work on some more this weekend. Thanks for stopping by....here they are:
Mini Holiday Planners
2013 Altered Pocket Planners
Teacher Gifts! These are art pencil packs with a skinny notepad and eraser.
Skinny Notepads
Fun Tag Project!
I had so much fun making these coffee stained tags! I just went to my local office supply store and bought a package of plain white shipping tags. (They were very inexpensive...I think I got 150 for like $2.99!) I like tags with a vintage, aged look, especially when I stamp beautful images on them. That's why I decided to make coffee stained tags! Check out my pictures and easy steps below!
I just took my leftover morning coffee and poured it into a large paper plate.
Next, I put about 15 tags into the coffee and let them sit for about an hour. I made sure they were all covered in the coffee.
Then, I layed them out to dry over night on some paper towels.
They turned out so great! They have an aged look to them with a slight brown tint, which makes them perfect for stamping vintage images! I hope you give it a try too!

In the Old Tent Tonight....
I want to tell you why I am absolutely mesmerized by circus art. I love the colors and images that appear in circus scenes, photography and stories. I just think it's all so artistic and beautiful. I love vintage circus paper (particularly Graphic 45's Le Cirque collection), postcards, and anything else that is related to vintage circus art. I'm drawn to black and white stripes in my scrap booking, as it reminds me of the tents and scenes I imagined while reading The Night Circus, be Erin Morgenstern, which I wrote about in this post, on my other blog. That book was truly amazing and I loved being lost in the majestic world that the author created, page after page. There's just something about an old time circus and imagining all of the enchanting stories behind it. I also loved the book, Water For Elephants, by Sara Gruen. The romantic, forbidden love story and the surprise heroin within the book just make me want to quit my job and run away with the circus!
Like I said...I'm just loving vintage circus findings and stories. So, needless to say....I will be working on many circus albums, journals and other fun projects. I think circus themes go way beyond just peanuts and animals. The art and the stories are so charming....and sometimes even appear to be sad and lonely. It's all so magical and intriguing to me.
A huge contributing factor in my vintage circus obsession is one of my favorite songs of all time, by my all time favorite musician, Patty Griffin. The song is called "Trapeze," and she wrote it from the memory of her childhood trips to the circus with her family. The trapeze girl made a huge impression on her and the song is absolutely beautiful.
She sings, "She started with us on the back of a horse....just seventeen and already divorced. She took to the air with the greatest of ease....She was born to flying on the old trapeze."
"Some guy broke her heart, and her heart, it did ache, so she went to the tent of the lady of the snakes, who gave her a potion and she drank it in....and after that her heart never ached again...after that, her heart never ached again."
Every time I hear that song...I can't help but imagine the life of a trapeze girl. My mind explores the romantic and mysterious feel of the circus. I am just so drawn to it in my crafting and I can't wait to create with all of the gorgeous vintage circus paper I have. So, "Trapeze" Paper Crafts was inspired, not only by the infamous girl in my favorite song, but by so much more.
