Valentine's Tag and Stick Pin Swap!

I just had the most fun creating Valentine's tags and stick pins!  I love, love, love vintage Valentine's images, so I quickly decided that vintage was the theme for my tags.   I am involved in a tag swap on youtube at an amazingly talented and sweet crafter's channel.  She's Mel and her channel can be found here.  The swap is for Valentine's tags and stick pins.  We are required to make tags for all 10 ladies in our group and 3 stick pins each.  I had never made stick pins before...ever, so I watched a couple tutorials on youtube and decided to give it a whirl.  I was lucky, because I had some Heidi Grace stick pins that a friend got me for my bridal shower 6 years ago and they had tiny hearts at the top!  I just added some cute beads to them using glossy accents and soon enough, I had a handmade stick pin!  For the tags, I created a library pocket out of deep, red cardstock and used large shipping tags from Michaels for the base of the tags.  I covered each one with American Crafts paper and also used some of the K&Company paper for the pockets.  I set a wide red, chocolate or coral eyelet in each tag and tied heart ribbon from American Crafts and multi-colored fibers (from my sister, Bri) from each tag.  Here are some pictures of my creations!!

Croppin' Saturday!

Last Saturday, my mom, sister and I had a fun crop!  It was a blast!  We all got together at my mom's house and just did crafts all day long.  We got to my mom's around noon and she whipped up a batch of delicious biscuits and gravy and bacon.  YUM!  After brunch, we all sat around the dining room table and unloaded our necessary tools and craft supplies.  I was armed with scrapbooking paper, embelishments, adhesive, stick pins, vintage images and tags.  My mom had a needle and thread and fabric and my sister had a scrapbook and tons of pictures.  We scrapped, sewed, glued chatted and had the best Saturday ever.

My craft of choice, of course, is paper crafting.  I am currently involved in a Valentine's tag and stick pin swap on YouTube, so I worked on that all day.  When my mom was finished making her purse that she designed herself, she decided to give card making a try.  Her card turned out so adorable!!!  Here are some pictures of it!  I have also included a sneak peak of the stick pins I created!!

I love the bright colors and layering style she created.

I thought the pocket and tag inside was so creative!!

She did such a cute job on this.

I love gingham!

She definitely inspired me to make more cards!!

Vintage Christmas Cards

In know we're already pretty far into January, but I still wanted to post these vintage Christmas cards that I made last month.  My friend, Rachel, ordered them from me and I had so much fun creating them.  I used My Mind's Eye paper and kraft cards and envlelopes.  I distressed all the edges with walnut stain and vintage photo by Tim Holtz.  I really love the vintage look of all these papers.  Here's a few that I made for her order.
